Beach Shack Project

My current work for 2019 includes two distinctive styles of sea glass jewellery.

Delicate hand weaved wire bezels encase sea glass and pottery securely and aesthetically to create one off pieces that showcase these beach found items. This is a time consuming technique but a labour of love, I made this weave up myself after much trial and error to replicate an idea I had in my head.

All pieces are made using surgical stainless steel, an exciting metal that doesn't rust or tarnish, its used by people in the marine industry because it is a durable metal and also in the surgical industry because people are rarely allergic to it. Its also got alovely worn in dark grey colour, like old sterling silver jewellery, but doesn't need to be polished like its posh counterpart.

My other peices echo summer beach holidays and feature lots of soft organic hemp rope knitted by me and sea shells collected whilst beachcombing (Don't worry I always check nobody is home before I take a shell however big or small). Its also been paired with sea glass and seapottery that I drill by hand.
