Rare example of banded flint, also called striped flint. Flint is also referred to as chert. I love the simplicity of this piece, it will secretly go with everything! 

Pebble has been smoothed by the sea against the sand so has a nice polished surface.

This one was a tricky one to identify, I thought at first it may be part of a fossilised shell, because of the lines, but turned out to be an equally unusual banded flint. Suffolk has alot of shingle beaches, and flint turns up alot, but I have never found anything like this. Banded flint is considered a gem stone when it displays these beautiful bands, as its considered rare. Theres a deposit in Poland where they make beautiful cabochons. Fun fact: flint is created IN chalk. The reason it comes in so many wacky and crazy shapes is because it grows in old tunnels and burrows created by organisms millions and millions of years ago. 

Made using a wire bezel technique I created, which is kind of a cross between basketry and weaving. It is a time consuming technique but a labour of love. Each piece of sea glass is securely and artistically encased in a delicate wire frame.

Surgical stainless steel findings. Highest quality stainless steel does not rust or tarnish, a hard wearing metal with a finish like antique sterling. Also suitable for people with metal allergies, stainless steel is used predominantly in the medical profession as people are less likely to react to it.
