Absolutely stunning pink Granite with a gorgeous white feldspar phenocryst (the big rectangular mineral in the middle). This is a nice unusual salmon pink hue, the pink coming from iron oxidising, possibly hematite. I’m completely in love with this stone. But granite is one of my favourites! 

This pebble has been tumbled by the sea against the sand and has a nice polished surface.

The granite complex underlying most of Cornwall is called The Cornubian Batholith. Basically a huge lump of magma that cooled under the ground several hundred million years ago. It is exposed in 6 plutons (outcrops) around Cornwall, and the Isles of Scilly is one of these plutons. The granite here was mostly this lovely salmon pink hue, unlike the rest of the granite I find in Cornwall. 

Made using a wire bezel technique I created, which is kind of a cross between basketry and weaving. It is a time consuming technique but a labour of love. Each piece of sea glass is securely and artistically encased in a delicate wire frame.

Surgical stainless steel findings. Highest quality stainless steel does not rust or tarnish, a hard wearing metal with a finish like antique sterling. Also suitable for people with metal allergies, stainless steel is used predominantly in the medical profession as people are less likely to react to it.
